CTC Minutes   September 25, 2016

New Caretaking council description
The CTC met on September 25, 2016 at the home of Gina Matkin. Those present were Mark Watson, Mike McMahon, Gina Matkin, Colleen Brown, Megan Seymour, and Patrice Watson. Thanks to Gina for presiding and Patrice for keeping the minutes.

Actions:
After a discussion, the CTC agreed on a somewhat less fuzzy description of what the CTC does. That description is given in the document 'The Honey Locust Sangha Care-Taking Council', which will be posted on the HSL website (see link above)

We currently have 2 vacancies on the CTC. We agreed to recruit 2 additional members to the CTC prior to the next meeting.

The sangha has an account balance of approximately  $4000  from weekly dana and retreat and DOM dana. We agreed to a policy on the use of this money: to use sangha money to help with expenses for some people interested in the spring HLS retreat, and to send some people to TNH retreats and wake up retreats. We agreed to make the availability of this funding known, and to refer interested sangha members to members of the Order of Interbeing. We asked the members of the Order of Interbeing to seek out and encourage participation in these retreats by promising sangha members. We remembered that it is important that the grantee make a real commitment as well.

We agreed that the upcoming Chan Huy retreat at Pony Creek is going to be offered to members of the sangha only. It will be offered as a retreat for sangha leaders, members interested in leadership, experienced sangha members and members interested in taking their own practice to a deeper level.

The next meeting will occur in early December or in January. Megan Seymour will preside. One item on the agenda will be, who should be the teacher for the spring 2018 retreat
The Honey Locust Sangha / Omaha Community of Mindful Living is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All funds donated help to fulfill the mission of practicing and raising awareness of the mindfulness practice in the Thich Nhat Hanh / Plum Village tradition.

You can donate (provide Dana) using the PayPal link at the left (you do not need a PayPal account) or send via Venmo to @HoneyLocust. Please indicate General Dana or specific event (December DoM, for example) in the text via Venmo.
