The Caretaking Council for Honey Locust Sangha

> First Agenda Item:  Update on the 2023 spring retreat
>
> The retreat committee met on Saturday the 15th, 2022.  It was confirmed that the retreat is set for 11-14 May, at the Creighton retreat facility.  Teacher Terry and Teacher BK will both be present.  The retreat will be a hybrid in-person and zoom event.
>
> Second Agenda Item: Treasurer’s report.
>
> The current balance is $3019.70. (951.24 in Pay Pal - 2068.46 US Bank) It was discussed that we have a historic $200 a month reduction.  Discussion on Dana was delayed till the Fifth Agenda Item.
>
> Third Agenda Item: Plan for/Invite Teachers for future events.
>
> The Retreat Planning Committee is in search of Teachers to include familiar and unfamiliar Teachers, monastics, and looking into the pool of Teachers within our local Sangha. Both Mike McMahon and Tina Ray are investigating possible Teachers, with  diversity of Teachers being a consideration.  Mark Watson  explained that Creighton was unable to confirm a 2024 date for out retreat,  due to not knowing its own dates that far in the future.
>
> Fourth Agenda Item: Recommendations for Monday night Sangh.Fourth Agenda Item: Recommendations for Monday night Sangh.
>
> Discussion ranged from various early start times to changing the length of time back to 90 minutes.  It was voted to start the meeting at its original time of 6:30.  The individuals setting up the Yoga path were to take as long as needed for sound and system checks and go for 90 minutes.
>
> Facilitators will be asked to remind Sangha of the time following the last formal meditation.  This was not voted on as a mandatory action, but as a common curtesy, given that most facilitators do this anyway.
>
> Jim Cox offered an iPad to check sound and connectivity to zoom.  It was agreed to test out the device at the next Monday Night Sangha.
>
> The Fifth Agenda Item: Dana policy and procedures
>
> It was agreed that we reintroduce the Dana Basket.  Facilitators will periodically give a reminder of Dana, highlighting that Dana is more than money.  Dana is about service, giving of self, and the various ways we can support our Sangha.
